There's a couple of ways you can start out by getting your degree to become an accountant. First you can just go to a two year community college and get an associates degree, and you can transfer that then to a four year university to get your four year degree, or you can start out at a four year university where you take both your basic courses and your upper level major courses. The third thing you can do is get a optional masters degree, this would be where you go on and get a fifth year of accounting classes and get a masters degree on top of your accountant degree. After you finished your school, you have to find your path in accounting, there's several different options. You can work in public accounting where you do auditing, or tax work, or you can simply find a job in private accounting, that means you go to a regular corporation and start working for them. Once you find a job, you've made your way to becoming an accountant."
