"Alright folks in this clip I am going to teach you how to publish a book. Ok so there's basically two things you can do. You can self publish or you can go the professional route and get your book deal and make millions of dollars and have it picked up and distributed around the world through a major large publisher. Which I'm sure most of your would prefer to do, option b. Walk through both steps. Option a basically means that you have your completed work done, your novel, your novella, your short story, your poem whatever. And you just want to get it out there. For you it's not about the money it's about you know just letting your book be seen and viewed by an audience, read by an audience. What you are going to want to do is utilize the brilliant available tool of the internet. And find any number of online venues where you could publish your work. Accomplishing scenario a, self publishing is insanely easy. Go to any number of websites that allow you to post a blog and simply publish your piece of work there for all your friends, family and whoever else happens to cross your path to for it to read. And that you know is really the simplest way to get something published. Really and that is getting your work published. People are reading it, it's out there, you've done your job. People are appreciating your work. Now option two, breaking it down simply what you are going to have to do is get an in somehow. Because very few literary agencies or publishing houses will read unknown piece of fiction that shows up in a manila envelope on their doorstep. It's just not going to happen. Unless you have your foot in the door. Could be someone as small as the mail guy who just happens to leave it on the right desk. But that's really what you are going to need to do is find you know your sister's cousin's brother's best friend. Someone that you know that can help you get your foot in the door. Because if you don't have that, the only other option for major, major publishing is you are going to have to ship it off to smaller literary agents not the big guys, cause they are not going to take your calls or read your mail. But the smaller guys, research who some of the smaller little bit more accessible independent publishers are and hope that you snag their attention enough to take it to the next level. If they fall in love with your manuscript they are going to call you, they're going to try to work out some sort of deal, that is really the best way to get your book published. In that regard do a little bit of research and find out what type of publishing houses publish what type of books. I mean if your book is a horror book, then find out who the best indie publishing houses are for horror. If it's a love, a romance novel then do the same thing. Do your homework basically, find out who the smaller more independent publishing houses are, what type of works they publish and hit them with a barrage of introductory letters and send your manuscript to them regularly and wait for them to review it and that's all you can do at that point, just wait and hope that your brilliant masterpiece finds the audience that it deserves."
