"All origami begins with several simple bases and today I'm going to teach you how to do the fish base. My name is Robert Segundo and let's get started. What I've got here is a square piece of paper and if you're like me, you live in places where you can't just buy square pieces of paper, you have to make your own. So I've used simple construction paper and I've cut it down. What we're going to do is basically we're going to go into one of the simplest folds or simplest bases there are. And this is called a sheet fold. And in origami every fold has a name. And this is it, this is your very basic sheet fold. What we're going to do is we're going to open this back up and do the sheet fold in the other direction. Like so. And there we go. What we're going to do is we're going to open it up, then we're going to go ahead and go into our kite base, another simple base. When you get down to it, the fish base is not really a simple base, it is a complex base. But it's the least complex of many of them. There we go. Like so. Now what we're going to do is we're going to take and just basically do like mountain fold slash dog ear fold like so, you have that edge there, do the same thing here. And also wherever we get better paper because the construction paper does seem to want to tear a lot. And there you have it. There's your simple fish base, play around with it, have fun and enjoy making origami."
