"The classic Japanese origami piece is the butterfly, or silk moth as it would be in Japan. And I'm going to show you how today how to make it. What we're going to do is we're going to start with our square piece of paper like we have here, and we're going to take it and we're going to fold it in half, like so. I'm going to do this kind of fast and ugly because we're under time restraints here. Fold it in half like that, and fold it in half again like so. Then we're going to open it up, we're going to fold it diagonally, like so. Then I'm just going to take it and fold it over this way just so I can get the crease lining up, like so. Now, when we open it up, we have it completely creased like that. What we're going to do is we're going to take our corner points, just going to bring them into the center like so. All right. Now what we're going to do is we're going to open it back up, and we're going to take and fold our corners in here to cut our paper into fourths, and use better paper than construction paper because this stuff likes to wrinkle and tear. That's really bad, but this is what I have for today. There we go. What we're going to do is we're going to take it, we're going to do what is more commonly known as the boat fold, where you open it up like so. We're going to crease that corner in right there, and open it up. That's basically opening along that diagonal line there. Open it up and crease it there and just fold it down like so, and do the same thing over here. There we go. Now what we're going to do is just take it, fold it in half this way, and then open this up. Just kind of basically squash fold it down like so. There you go. Then we're going to take and just fold these corners up just a little bit, something like that, on both sides. Then we're going to take it, flip it over, fold it back in half, kind of give us a little crease right here. There we have it. There is your origami butterfly or silk moth. Have fun and enjoy."
