"Hi this is Laura Turner and today we are going to talk about how to obtain a college transcript. Now I had to do this in a couple of different ways. In my undergrad I actually had to write a letter to the school and get them to send me the paper copy of the transcript. I could not email them, I could not do anything like that at all what soever. So it's not set up online. So figure out number one first, how to obtain it from your particular school. Every school is going to be different. If you can obtain it online that's the easiest way. There will usually be a fee for getting these printed out. And then what you want to think about is what are you going to do with your transcript. Are you going to send it somewhere, do they want you to send it, or do they want the school to send it to them. That is something that will save you a lot of time if you figure out, if you ask the job that you are applying to that needs your transcripts, do you need it to be official and do you need it to be sent from the school directly to you. So even if it has the official seal on it, they may not take it because it's not sent directly from the college. So that's going to save you a lot of time if you just ask that one question. Do you need it sent from me or from the school. And so therefore when you request your transcript from your school either by email or letter you can tell them to send it to the job that you are applying to. So save yourself some steps by asking the right questions."
