"So, are you trying to figure out how to tactfully ask for money for a wedding gift? My name is Blake Kennedy with Kennedy Brothers Estate Service and I'm here to see if I can't help you with that. It's probably one of the most hardest things to do is "how do I ask someone that I need money for a wedding gift?" They might think of all different ideas of why you want to ask for that, they might think it's rude or how come they don't just want a traditional wedding present? Well, the thing you should do is you, obviously, need some things and some people are going to get you a wedding gift so file a registry at one particular store and make it kind of a short list because once that list runs out, they're going to go to the wedding party, the wedding family and the wedding family and the wedding party are friends and relatives, they're already going to know that that's what you want. So, have them sort of break the ice to these people saying "they're really trying to save up for a honeymoon, they want to do this special honeymoon, they're only going to do it once or they're saving up for that house". They're going to put it in a little bit better way than the groom or the bride coming out and saying "we'd really like some money for wedding presents", so put it on them and let them see if they can't help you out by asking for that money. You could do an Online registry for a mortgage or a honeymoon registry for the money but I think you'll be ok if you just put it on the parents and the relatives to help you out, in that particular situation. Good luck with that, my name is Blake Kennedy."
