"Hello. My name's James Dix, owner and founder of Reptile Rescue Service in Salt Lake City, Utah. And we're going to discuss some turtle eating habits, okay? Depending upon the species once again, like if it's a box turtle, you would give 'em a mixture of mixed greens. They do love wild dandelions, you can buy dandelions. They eat zucchini squash, shredded, shredded carrots, crook-neck squash, a yellow squash. You do need to use a calcium supplement with this, with D3. Sprinkle it three or four times a week. It will tell you the amount on the container for the amount of food that you're putting in there. Tortoises like to eat wild grasses, prickly pear cactus, the fruit, and they also like eating the flowers. They will also eat rose petals, which are full of vitamin C, off your regular rose at home, plant. This is very good for 'em. And a lot of times, if you have a large tortoise, and depending upon, once again, the species and size, the amounts of food will vary. So, if the turtle's always looking for food, you need to increase the amount."
