Series Summary

In the contexts of sociology and popular culture, the concept of interpersonal relationships involves social associations, connections or affiliations between two or more people. Such persons may interact overtly, covertly, face-to-face or may remain effectively unknown to each other, as in a virtual community whose members maintain anonymity and do not socialize outside of a chat room. The discovery or establishment of common ground between people provides a fundamental component for enduring interpersonal relationships. In this free video series, the author of several dating books provides advice for planning dates and behaving properly on dates. Discover how to impress dates, how to read a date's body language and how to relax before a date. Sometimes dates go wrong, so learn about saying no to a second date or refusing a date to ensure that there are no more requests. With these tips, dating will no longer be as stressful and rules of etiquette will become evident.

"Welcome to the world of cell phones. How to end a date. This is Doctor Paul, author of Boomer Girls: A Boomer Woman's Guide to Men and Dating and host of Ask Doctor Paul. Well you did it. You went on a date with this guy or girl and you have got to get out of this date before it's over, so how do you end the date? The cell phone. You go and say excuse me, I need to go to the restroom. You go to the restroom, you get on the phone, either by text or by voice and say help, to a best friend, a man or woman, I'm here, meet me here, I've got to ditch this date. I got to dump this date, help me out here. They will because maybe they will need to be helped out themselves sometime. That's one solution, and the person comes in and everything goes south for the person you're with be it male or female, and they know it's over because it's not going where they expected it to go. Another way is very simple. You meet with somebody and you suddenly decide I don't think I like this person, you go to a movie. They can't talk to you, they can't be ignorant, they have to sit there and watch the movie. The movie is over, I've got a headache, or I've got to get up early and go to work tomorrow or whatever excuse you may find. You go your way, they go theirs, all done, how to end a date. Nice suggestions. This is Doctor Paul, may your fantasies of today be your realities of tomorrow."
