"Joel Hickerson, grindog.com, we're going to draw a baby monkey picture. To start out with on a baby monkey you want to think a little baby usually has a big head so we'll start with a big circle for the head and the muzzle comes out of the circle but this is a baby so the muzzle and the nose is going to be very small whereas the eyes are going to be very big so we draw the eyes, little bitty nose, small smile. It's a monkey. So you still need to make monkey ears and the monkeys always have exaggerated ears and maybe a little tuft of hair on her head, maybe even a little bow and a tuft of hair. And crawling is always easier when you are drawing a little baby and monkeys crawl on their knuckles so don't forget that part, maybe the other hand can be holding a banana and you have got a little monkey butt over here with the little bitty tail, there, that is our basic construction element. So remember you are drawing for the construction elements and you come back with your marker to make your finished drawing. So the construction elements are generally just guidelines so don't worry if you have to draw an extra construction element, don't worry about erasing it, you can do all that after you have finished drawing. Remember a little nose, it's a baby monkey a little smile even a tongue sticking out, a little bitty muzzle. If it were a grown up monkey the muzzle would actually be bigger than the head. Big head, eyebrows, make monkey ears because that is what makes it a monkey, a little bit of tuft of hair at the top with a bow on it and then crawling, remember monkeys crawl on their knuckles so draw a little monkey butt back at the back and that always makes it cute, toes up, little bitty tail coming out. Again the construction lines are just guides, you can change them or do whatever you want with the finished drawing. A banana peeled, you can even have her taking a bite out of it if you wanted to and that is basically the construction elements. Now you can come back and hopefully you have drawn light enough that these pencil lines will come right off. Erase the lines that you don't want and when you are done you can look around and see if there are any lines that are missing or if you want to enhance with a couple little hairs or give it a little more weight to certain areas that you want to kind of ground the figure you can do that too. That's how you draw a baby monkey picture."
