"Hi, I'm Tim Gipson, and I'm going to show you how to properly load a dishwasher. So, lookin' at this dishwasher, now, we've already got some things loaded in here so that we can just show you. Most dishwashers come with a two rack system, and slide out on rollers. The top rack is primarily for your glassware, for cups, for bowls, and depending on how it's configured, and you'll, and a good thing to look at is to look at your owners manual. Now, all dishwashers come with an owners manual, but the racks are configured differently, so it's a good idea, and those owners manuals will actually have recommended loading; I forgot the word I was going to say, guidelines yeah, recommended loading guidelines. So, in this case this actually has; in the center, it has places for bowls. Then, it has places for cups on the side, and taller cups will go in the middle. And then, the center area is also good for plates or for smaller bowls. Now, on the bottom is where we want to put our pots and pans. Most of the force from the dishwasher, the the water force that actually cleans the dishes is greater in the bottom, so your dishes that are more heavily soiled you want in the bottom. And of course; the larger dishes you want in the bottom. Now, important thing in loading your your flatware in your basket; to make sure that you get everything as clean as possible you want to load your flatware with the utensil end up and the handle down. Now, the only exception is, would be with sharp knives like this. You don't want to leave the sharp knives sticking up cause' it's very easily to cut yourself, so for safety purposes; on the sharp knives you want to leave those heading down into the basket. So, once it's properly loaded make sure your racks are firmly secured in there. You have a main cup and a pre-wash cup. For most detergents that are formulated out there now if you put your detergent in the main cup that's typically good enough. Now, I particularly like to use these all-in-one tablets, so you can remove these. They have a a rinsing agent and detergent all-in-one, so rotate those in. And for most of your typical washes you want to make sure that your heated dry is on, your water heater's on, and it's on a normal cycle. Now, if you need a heavier duty wash you can put it on a pots and pens, pots and pans cycle, and for most purposes you can also use just a light wash. And then you turn it on, and you're ready to go. And I'm Tim Gipson, and that's how you load a dishwasher."
