"You've made the decision and you're aware that something is going on with you and you need to talk to a professional. I'm Virginia Intelisano, Mental Health Counselor, Registered Intern with the State of Florida and I'm here to talk to you today about how to find a therapist. The biggest thing that you've accomplished is that you've decided that you need help. You've accepted that and you're aware that something is going on and you don't know how to deal with. You might want to try looking into group therapy first. Group therapy can help because other people come together with similar problems and talk to you about how they're feeling. You might find symmetry in their feelings and your feelings. One way that you can find group therapy sessions is by contacting your local non-profit organization, which is going to be a mental health organization and they can point you in the right direction. These types of places usually offer counseling sessions on an individual basis, couple basis or group basis on a slighting scale fee. This is base on your income. Also, if you have insurance you can contact your local insurance provider to help you find one in your area. The other thing you want to do is be sure to talk to friends and family members if you feel comfortable in doing so and getting word of mouth. Finding a counselor is like finding a good pair of shoes. You might have to try on a couple before you find the right one that you get along with, but the perfect pair of shoes is out there. I'm Virginia Intelisano helping you everyday find help in the community. Be safe and be sane, it's imperative. And if you've any questions about this information, please contact the doctor or a local professional in your area. Thank you."
