"When choosing readings for your ceremony, there's a few things to consider and the first thing is your values. You have to think about what values you and your to be husband have including your religious values. Including your family as well. Don't keep your family out of this, a lot of the times they'll have a lot of input. The other thing is to consult your officiant. They usually have a book of readings that you can choose from so this will make the process a lot easier. Also, always consider going to the big book, the Bible. The Bible also has many readings in it that you can choose from that might be able to help you decide what would be better for you considering what you and your to be husband really, really want. Readings have to be special to you. Don't just pick something because your officiant or your parents said well that's usually what's done at weddings. Make sure its something that does mean something to you. Sometimes your officiant is not as flexible as others so just make sure that you run by all your readings by them. Also, talk to the person who is giving the readings and make sure that they're comfortable with it, have it ahead of time so they know what they're reading. And also, make sure that it means something to you and your family because your values are the most important and this is your ceremony that your vows and everything included in that ceremony have to be special to you."
