"When leading a horse, you first want to make sure that you have the proper equipment in order to make sure it's going to be a safe experience. If your horse seems to be strong or pushy, having a chain lead rope is really a good idea to give you some control. Otherwise, you can have a regular lead rope. It's also important to make sure that you always lead on the left side and that your right hand is pretty close to their chin and that your left hand holds the slack of the lead rope. And it's not wrapped around your hand. If it's wrapped around your hand and your horse is to take off, there's a chance that it could just tighten around your hand and you could get dragged. As your leading your horse, you want to make sure that keep them about an arms length away to make sure that you don't get stepped on."
