"Hi, this is Liz Muller, from Liz's Hair Design, in Hollywood, Florida. In this clip, we're going to talk about how to be a hair stylist. Now, when I became a hair stylist I decided to go ahead, and take cosmetology in high school. I don't know if even the high schools offer that any more, but this was like back twenty-five years ago. You can go to a great cosmetology school and get a wonderful degree in hair. After you go ahead and get your cosmetology degree what I would advise is go ahead and work for a salon. Be an apprentice, work as a shampoo girl, and learn from others. Your peers have a lot to show you. What they'll do is they'll maybe even take you under their wing, show you all the new things out there, and train you. If you train properly you'll be a wonderful hair stylist. It doesn't take long before you're out there and playing with hair like I'm doing today. But it's a nice thing to do to just go ahead and work with others first, and take your time learning. Take some courses too. Courses are wonderful. There's a lot of hair shows that they offer a couple of times a year that you can go ahead and go to and learn new techniques. Keep yourself informed at all times and you'll be a good stylist. Thanks. This is Liz Muller."
