"How to make a homemade flea repellent. Homemade flea repellents can be anything from something you put on the animal or to something that we put around the yard, or in the house to help keep fleas away. There's a lot of different flea repellents that we can talk about. One that we've already talked about in different videos is the lemon tea flea repellent basically you take six to eight lemons chop them up, boil them in hot water, let them steep overnight. Let the water cool, put it in a spritz bottle and then take the spritz bottle and spritz down your animal. Of course you never want to get it in it's eyes or in it's face. You can also spritz down his bedding, you can spritz down the carpeting, couches, whatever you want with this. It should be perfectly harmless to pretty much everything. And the fleas don't like the lemon scent or taste. You can also do the same thing only with like a teaspoon of dried rosemary. That works as well, same idea. Boil, get a big pot of water, boil one teaspoon of dried rosemary in it, let it cool over night. Put it in a spritz bottle, spritz away. You can, cedar also works extremely well, red cedar. You can spread that around in his bedding area, you can put it inside his pillow. You can spread red cedar outside or on your property line. Eucalyptus leaves work extremely well as does the eucalyptus oil, though never put any kind of essential oil or tea tree oil, lavender oil, any of that stuff, that should never go directly on the animal. It can cause lots of problems. I don't every want to see anybody putting the tea tree oil on the animal, that's a big no no. Ok don't be doing that. It can definitely make your dog very, very sick and ill. And I have seen people make that mistake in the past, it is heart breaking. So please don't do that. Always dilute it in a large amount of water with very, very little of any of the essential oil. A drop to two drops at the most. It's very, very, very potent stuff. :So these are all different ideas you can try and you can use, just remember any homemade kind of repellent or anything is always going to be a volatile substance, something that's not going to be totally guaranteed to work or the side effects aren't going to be guaranteed. Your animal could have a reaction to it that can be unforeseen by you or anyone else so be aware of that and always pay close attention to your animal after you use such a repellent."
