"How do I make a home made flea powder. Well I'm not so sure how to make a home made flea powder but I sure know how to make some home made flea repellent. A couple of different things you can do, the first easy one to do is take some lemons, cut them up, preferably about six or eight or so. And you are going to boil them in some hot water just like you would like a tea. And let it sit for a couple of hours. Obviously you want to let this cool down, this is still kind of hot. Cause we are doing this as a demonstration. But you are going to put it into a spray bottle. And then you are going to take the spray bottle and you can spray your animal with it. Now the fleas do not like a certain part of the lemon, a certain chemical part of the lemon juice that repels fleas. You want to make sure you are careful not to spray around the eyes or face of the animal because this is lemon juice, essentially, lemon tea. And we don't want to get it in their eyes because it will be quite painful and sting. So that's one option. Another option is you can take a floral scented shampoo much like this one, something with a very strong flowery scent to it. Take that dilute it in water and then you are going to use that in the same kind of way, you are going to spray it lightly in a spray bottle onto the animal's fur again, you don't want to to get it in the eyes or in the face, and then you let it dry, don't wash this off. But you want to dilute it a lot. I mean we are talking very, very little shampoo to water, really just trying to get that floral scent on the animal and that's going to help repel the fleas as well. But again neither of these are going to work nearly as well as the commercial flea repellent and I highly recommend using a commercial one before you do the homemade stuff."
