"O.k., we're started with a fresh boot right here in this segment. What we're going to try to accomplish is just getting in to the computer and getting a directory set up to where we know where our download files are going to be going. And that's going to help us a lot in the future and break the habit of just saving everything to the desk top. Because as you download things off the Internet a lot of times they're in a compressed format and they will absolutely, when you uncompress them they can make other folders with files in them. And if you want to later use some of those files or check out a read me or something like a dot filing in that folder, you don't know where it's at. O.k., so now that we have the screen up, the computer's booting, this is a new lap top but you want to just put some of this in some start screens down. For our purposes, I'm going to go over to start, button click it, we're going to go up to computer, click that and we're going to go up to C drive, double click that and we're going to do down in to this space down here and right click. We're going to type new folder, and we're just going to type in downloads. Now you can make as many folders as you want to, under whatever name you want. But this is just an area we're going to keep our downloads in. So now we have a folder and we know where to point it to. We know we can point it to the root, drive C and right off the root is just one branch downloads. It's not hitting a lot of places. We're going to put this down. So here's another pop up screen that's telling you to establish a program. We're going to just put this down. And we'll take care of that in a later segment on how to take some of these programs off."
