Summary: When drawing fashion the artist must try to draw a piece of clothing and think about where the body is underneath it. Remember how the body reacts to clothing and take that into account when designing and drawing fashion with tips from a professional illustrator and graphic designer in this free video on drawing.
"Hello there, welcome. I'm Lars Erik Robinson. And my company is Lars Arts All Around Artainment. I graduated from Ringling School of Art Design with an illustration major in ninty four. And fashion illustration is an amazing thing. You have to try to create a dress and think about where the body is underneath it. And fashion is about dresses and how they dress in it. And I have a sketch here that I started. And what you normally do is you focus on how you want your dress to lay on the body and how you want it to, what kind of mood do you want to create with it. You know, think about the modern woman, think about the modern man that we have out there that, and how it would work for them. So here's the dress part, arms are coming down. You know when you first create it you don't think about too much about how what, how the body or anything looks. You know, how the final stretch, you just keep creating different ideas and a mood that you want. And that's basically is what I want to emphasize is you're just creating a mood that you want to sell your client with and how they can do it. And then once they pick out something they really like, that's where you go and emphasize more and have more tighter sketches. And if we have this dress here and maybe it's a red dress, parts of it that swerve down like this, makes curls. And then maybe another part of it's green, creates a nice clash. And you envision this, fashion's all about trying to show off the curves, try create a mood that you want. So by creating that on them it gives it a swing there, it gives it a sex appeal if that's what you might want to have. Create some high heels. Once again, don't overdo it, just try to, just really get, you don't even have to have the face that much, just like that. Just enough to be able to show them, show your client how you want that fashion to be. Well thank you all so much for joining me and keep on sketching and look for all that different fashion out there to get ideas on fashion."
