"Hi, I'm Amelia, and I'm going to give you some rules on how to get the hair cut you want at the salon. First of all, you always want to make sure that you figure out what you want, and if you don't know, go in a little bit before your appointment, about fifteen, twenty minutes, and look through some magazines. As you're looking through the magazine, try to pick out four to five pictures of things that you like, and what that's going to do is that's going to give you a base line of your style. What the designer will see when they see those four or five pictures is they're going to notice that they're probably have a lot of the same elements. Do you like bangs? This side band here, this is still considered a bang, it's more of a swoop bang. Do you like feathering back? Do you want layers? These are layers. Do you want volume through the top? If so, you're going to need to have some layers through the back. You also need to understand what you're hair will and won't do. If your hair is naturally curly, are you willing to style it? How much time do you spend on your hair? Do you boat? Do you own a convertible? What is your lifestyle like? These are all things to take in to consideration when ever you're picking out a new style for yourself. Example, if you've got curly hair and you're not willing to blow dry it, or to spend more then ten minutes on it, I would not be looking at a style like this, because that's not going to happen. You're going to want something that's got color to it, you're going to want something that's got body to it. Now, if you've got nice, straight hair, this will work, but if you don't want bangs, this isn't going to work. Maybe something like this will work for you better if you've got wavy hair and you're willing to work with it a little bit. So take in to consideration your hair texture, what you're willing to do, what you're not willing to do, products you're willing to use, the styling time you're willing to put in, and your life style. Bring pictures. Pictures, pictures, pictures, always have pictures. Your hair dresser will love you for it, it'll make everything a lot easier. And that's how you can be sure to get the hair cut you want at the salon."
