"Destroying the morale of your organization or your group is not what you want, but somehow, people unintentionally do it. My name is Gloria Campbell. I'm with Advantage Training Systems, in St. Petersburg, Florida, and what I want to do is give you some ideas on how not to destroy the morale of your employees. One of the first things you want to do is you always want to make sure that you're fair. One of the things that I've seen that destroys morale quickly within an organization is for a manager or supervisor to have individuals that they really like better than they do others, and they communicate that throughout the organization. The other thing that destroys morale is unequal workloads. I don't like you, so I continue to shove stuff on you. Trust me; other people in the organization see that, and they don't respect that. Also, another way to destroy morale is not valuing people; talking down to them, talking negatively to them, using derogatory terms. Those are all things that work to destroy the morale of an organization. Your job as a manager is to help people achieve the best things that they can. My name is Gloria Campbell. I'm with Advantage Training Systems in St. Petersburg, Florida, and one of the best ways to destroy morale is to not treat people fairly, and to not respect them."
