"Hi, I'm Amelia, and I'm going to talk to you about how to get a great hair color and keep it that way. Well, when you go in to see the designer, you always want to make sure that you bring in a picture of what you want. Because what she considers blond, you may not, or what she considers brown, you may not. You may want a golden brown and she may see red. So, always, always bring a picture. Another thing, is once the color is complete, you want to always make sure that you purchase a professional, high quality color preserving shampoo. This one is by Lanza, it's excellent because it doesn't have any sulfates in it. And sulfates are basically a detergent, and what that can do, is that can also help fade hair color. Water is also a huge factor with hair color, so you want to make sure that if you've got hard water, you get some sort of filter on your shower that will help, sort of, get the minerals out because that can pull the color out of the hair as well. I also recommend, especially for reds, a toning shampoo. And what that is, is a shampoo that actually has color in it, so as you can see, this one's for reds, which reds are known to fade. So you shampoo your hair with that and that's going to actually impart color back into the hair. Very important.
