"Hi, I'm Amelia and I'm going to talk to you about how to get rid of chlorine-green hair. First of all, chlorine-green hair is actually not from the chlorine, it's from the algaecide, or the copper based metals that are in the water. So, always check your algaecide levels, check your copper levels in your water. Sometimes your municipal water supply, too, will have high copper levels. So check those and that will let you know if that's actually what's doing it. Usually, with chlorine-green hair, what it is, is the hair is overly porous. So you really want to stuff that hair with something prior to getting in the pool. Wet the hair before you get in the pool, put a deep conditioner on it, something thick and heavy before you get in the pool. And that will, sort of like a wet sponge, a wet sponge can't soak up any more water, so, or it will soak up less water than a dry sponge. So if you fill the hair up with something prior to getting in the pool, the chlorine won't get into it, or the pool water won't get into it as much. What's going to help get that out, is a clarifying shampoo, or a deep clarifier. Something like Malibu 2000, that you can get at a beauty supply, I've even heard of tomato soup, or tomato juice getting it out. I think actually, what that does, is red neutralizes green, so it sort of takes the look of the green out, but it's not actually removing the metallic buildup. So another technique that you can use for removing a metallic buildup is vitamin C. So, I'm going to read this to you, and use this to remove the buildup. You're going to want to get vitamin C with no rose hips. Two tablespoons of crushed vitamin C, or more, depending on your hair length. And then you're going to use five ounces of hot water to dissolve. And you're going to want to apply that either in the shampoo bowl or in the shower, apply a plastic cap and place under the dryer, hot dryer, for ten to thirty minutes. And that will help remove the chlorine from your hair. Also, like I said, the Malibu 2000, and any clarifying shampoo. When you get out of the pool, make sure you always rinse your hair, and always, always shampoo whenever you're done swimming. And those are some ways to get rid of the copper build up and chlorine out of your hair."
