"My name is Christine Marquette and I'm a registered dietitian with the Austin Regional Clinic and I'm going to talk to you about how to eat healthy at Pick Up Stix. Eating healthy at Pick Up Stix is very easy. They have a lot of healthy choices. All of their foods are prepared with fresh ingredients. They don't use any transfats. Anything that is fried or stir fried is used with a canola oil. Again lots of choices with vegetables so most of their items are very healthy. About the only things to be concerned with are going to be the fried items such as the friend won tons, the crispy dumplings and the fried rice. Those are really the only options that can tend to have a lot of fat in them. It is the unsaturated fats since it is cooked with canola oil but the calorie level may be a little bit higher than you would like if you are working on weight loss for example. If that is one of your goals is losing weight you may want to consider looking at their wok light menu. The choices on that menu are all 500 calories or less and it is a variety of things, vegetable, egg rolls, steamed dumplings, Buddha's Delight, things like that and again they are all very high in vegetables, very low in saturated fats so you have got a lot of really good options at Pick Up Stix. If you want to pick up the fiber content of a meal you can add brown rice to it as opposed to the white rice and then as far as your drinks as long as you are sticking with drinks that don't have added calories from sugar, that will really compliment your meal in a very good way so of course things like water, unsweetened tea, plain coffee, diet soft drinks, any of those things would be really good options to compliment your meal.
