"Hi. I'm Chris Bryce with superservice.com. I'd like to show you how to format a floppy disk. Now to format a floppy disk the first thing you're going to want to do is make sure the floppy disk is inserted in the floppy disk drive. Then you're going to go to either my computer using Windows, or Windows Explorer. Once either my computer or windows explorer is opened up you can simply right click on the drive letter for the floppy drive which is normally A:. You'll go to the floppy disk drive icon, right click and go down and select format in the list. Once you select format a wizard will pop up that will walk you through the rest of the process. Labeling the disk drive, also doing a quick format or a full format. Now a quick format is great if you just want to quickly erase files off the disk and allow you to put new files on it. If you want to make sure that no traces of the files are there you'll do a full format which will fully prepare the disk and fully erase all the files. Either one of those is a great option, especially for floppies, but the full format will take up to a minute or two to do. The quick format normally only takes a few seconds. Once that's done your floppy is formatted and you're ready to go. That's how you format a floppy disk."
