"Hello, my name is Vic Schumacher, the company is HPE Financial Services. The question today is how do you get health insurance when you're pregnant? The answer is you can't. It's too late. It's like having a car and you're running down the street and all of a sudden you get into a car wreck, you pick up your telephone or your cell phone and say, I think I need car insurance today. It's not going to happen. The way to do it if you are pregnant and you're trying to work with coverages and things like this and not have the entire bill upon yourself is to negotiate the situation with the doctors in the hospitals ahead of time. They will try to work with you if you tell them you're a cash patient, they'll try to discount prices and can discount prices as much as fifty percent. But you've to ask for that, okay. Another thing is that you might be able to do is figure out a way how to possibly have your employer help you with the coverage and help you with the payments that are going to be required. But it's really after the fact, you cannot get the coverage after the event has occurred. Talk to an advisor if you have this problem, they'll try to work with you on different state applications, different government things that might be able to assist you with this. But a conventional health insurance policy from a major name carrier is not going to be available to you. My name is Vic Schumacher, the company is HPE Financial Services, helping people everyday."
