"I'm Michael Burton with michaelburtonfilms.org, located in Salt Lake City Utah we're here talking about internet essentials. Now I want to talk to you about how to buy memory for your computer or upgrade your memory for your computer online. To purchase memory for your computer there's a couple of ways that you can do this. One you can buy it online, or the other is you could go into a store and purchase the memory. If you're like me I didn't exactly what kind of memory my computer took, I didn't know how much it could hold. So what I did I found a site online. If I go onto the internet here I'll show you, it's called crucial.com. I'm sure there are many other sites that do this, and also if you go into a store someone could probably tell you as well. But what crucial.com does is it scans your computer, and it will tell you what kind of memory upgrades you can handle, and what product you need to get. So this is crucial.com, they also sell these products. So right here in the center of the page it says scan my computer or scan my system, so we're going to click on this. And then we're going to click right here where it says start my scan. And now it's scanning my system, once it's done scanning my system it will give me all the information I need on what to buy. As here it saying that crucial recommends, and it's showing that I currently have two gigabytes total. I have one gigabyte in two memory slots. I have four memory slots total, and I can upgrade to four gigabytes, I can upgrade to six gigabytes, and I can upgrade to eight gigabytes. And down here it shows you the different pricings, along with about how much that will cost. You can also as you scroll down here the differently types, and so you can order exactly from them, the memory. Or you can take the info that you've gathered and you can go to another store if you wish to find a cheaper price. I happen to think that this seems to be a great deal. And you can go to a different store and have them recommend what to purchase, and they probably carry at those stores as well. The good thing about this is that it does tell you exactly how much your computer can handle, now it also says on here that it doesn't necessarily mean that it can handle the total amount converted. So you need to check with your local store on that, or email crucial and ask them if your computer system can handle the max upgrade. Or if it will even do anything for you."
