"Hi, I'm Michael Burton with michaelburtonfilms.org located in Salt Lake City, Utah. Today we're talking about Internet essentials. Now I want to show you how to add text to a photo in Photoshop. Okay, to add text to a picture with Photoshop is very simple. First we just have to choose our image; so we're going to go to the start menu, go up to where we keep our images under my pictures. We have some generic photos in here that have come with the computers, we're going to go ahead and choose one. Let's go ahead and choose the one of the pyramids, right here. We're going to right click on here and choose open with and then choose Adobe Photoshop. So it will now open the image in Adobe Photoshop and I will show you how to add the text. Once our image is up and running, just like this, if you look on the left, you have a, you have a tool bar and has all these different options. Right here is the T for text, okay. We're going to click on this link, this gives us our text symbol, as you can see right here that I'm wavering around on the, the pyramid picture. Let's go ahead and left click on that and that brings up our blinking cursor right here; that means we can add in some text. So label this, Pyramids, okay. It's in hot pink lettering so you guys can see it really, really well. That's how you add text. Now, if you want to make changes, you can highlight this text or a portion of the text and as you can see, right up above the word pyramids, there's another tool bar. Starting over here; you've got your font style, your, you know, font attributes: italic, bold; you got your font size and so on and so on. You got spacing and aligning and then also you have your color options. So you can also change the color of that text. So that's how you add text to a photo. Feel free to experiment with that. Mess around that makes some creative designs. For example by choosing a different font, we can choose something kind of, kind of interesting here, here's the smarty pants font. So now you change your word to the smarty pants font. And we can also highlight this and change the font size if we want to make that a lot bigger. Let's change it to 72 point. There you go. Now we've written the word pyramids on the pyramid photo and that's how you add text to an image."
