"You have just been told that your spouse wants to divorce. Hi, I'm Robert Todd and I'm here to help you answer the question How do I survive a divorce? Well, the first thing to do is to recognize that whether you want a divorce or you don't want a divorce, if your spouse is seeking a divorce they're going to be entitled to that divorce and there's nothing you can really do to stop it. So perhaps the better response is how can I get through this as quickly as possible? And then answer to that questions becomes how do you approach your spouse about resolving the issues, such as distribution of the assets, distributions of the liabilities, who's going to take the children, what type of visitation is going to be with the other spouse with the children. Is there going to be child support paid? Is there going to be some type of spousal support paid by one spouse to the other? And as soon as you can answer those questions, the sooner you can get an agreement. And the sooner you can get an agreement, the sooner you can get through this divorce, and that's how you survive. I'm Robert Todd, and thank you for watching!"
