"You are considering a separation from your spouse and you're not quite sure whether you want to file for divorce. Hi, I'm Robert Todd and I am here to answer the question How do I file a legal separation? Well, that of course is going to vary from state to state, depending on which state you reside. In some states such as Florida there is no Legally recognized separation and in those states such as Florida where there is no legalized separation as opposed to divorce you still might want to consider putting forth an agreement between you and your spouse. Setting forth the distribution of your assets, the distribution of your liabilities, the custody of your children. Whether there's going to be support for those children paid by one spouse to the other. Whether there's going to be some type of support from one spouse to the other. These are things that should be in that agreement and then if you decide to proceed with the divorce you have the basis for an uncontested divorce by having that agreement. I'm Robert Todd, Thank you for watching!"
