"Hello my name is Penny Smith, and I am a North Carolina real estate broker. Today I'd like to talk to you about what criteria do I need to rent a house or an apartment. The criteria that you would need is that you would have to fill out an application. In which you would have to give your social security number, your date of birth, your driver's license number, past places in which you have rented or lived. So that your credit can be checked out. And you have to give them permission to do a criminal background check as well. And with the internet today it is easy to do, and trust me they do look. If there is something blemished on your record I highly recommend that you jump real quick and tell them about it. Get it right out in the open and be straight forward honest about it. Because they are going to look and they will know the truth. So this is the criteria that I say that you will need to know before renting a house or an apartment.
