A licensed contractor knows certain things to look for, and how to look for them. To determine whether it's a good investment, that depends upon the price, necessary repairs, how long you intend to keep it, and if it's in a good location. Those are all things that a good real estate agent, can help you determine, and she could also find a good inspector, to inspect that home for you, prior to making that offer.
