"To many a glass of wine is just simply a glass of wine! But to others it's much more than that. Hi, I'm Hazely Lopez, Director of Hazely Academy of Refinement and Modeling, and I'm here to talk to you about how to survive dinner with a "wine snob". First of all you want to make sure that you're starting and play their game. If you can't beat them, join them! So let the expert order the wine. If you're in a restaurant or at a store buying it, have him come with you, and of course if you're in the restaurant have him order that wine. If you're not into wine you can just go ahead and have him relax, but he's going to talk to you about the wine so just be a good listener. Be appreciative of all the information that he is going to be bringing to you and, of course, don't pretend like you don't know anything about the wine. Or, on the other hand, don't pretend like you know everything about the wine. Just, if you really don't know anything, learn about it, be open to new ideas and enjoy the evening! After all, you're sharing a glass of wine! So have fun! I'm Hazely Lopez with the Academy Hazely, Academy of Refinement and Modeling."

on 3/1/2009 A wine snob is someone that merely knows far more than you when it comes to wine? Knowledge equals snobbery? Do I sense insecurity here? No need to feel that way.
NO. A wine snob is someone that uses the knowledge of wine to make others feel inferior so as to appear superior to those knowing less about the subject. A wine lover, on the other hand, is one that knows much about wine and hopes that you too will want to know more about the subject.
