"Hello. My name is Luis Estrada and I'm a software developer. In this video, I'll show you how to upgrade Internet Explorer. Internet Explorer is a registered trademark of Microsoft and I have no affiliation with Microsoft. Go to the website at microsoft.com/ie. Currently, there are two versions of Internet Explorer that you can download. One is version 7 and the other is version 8 that, at the time of this recording, is in Beta version. What Beta means is that it is still under testing, although it is fully functional, it might still have some bugs or errors that remain to be fixed or that are unknown. Once the Beta phase is concluded, the official released version will take place. Internet Explorer 8 has many advantages over the seventh version. So, in this video, I'll show you how to install version 8. Click on the Download Now button. Select the Operating System and language, then press the Download button. Save the file on your computer. Once download is finished, close your Internet Explorer. Find the installation file and double click on it. First, files need to be extracted into a temporary directory. Now we have a welcome screen. We are recommended to save all open files and close all applications. Since Internet Explorer will update some components that might be in use, we will have to restart our computer at the end of the process. This option allows us to participate in a survey by Microsoft with the intention of improving the characteristics of the browser. Press Next. Here we have the license agreement. Once you have read it, click on the I Agree button. In this screen, you have the option of installing updates for Windows Internet Explorer and a tool for removing malicious software. You can leave this option selected. In that case, installation will take a bit longer. The download process will begin. The first thing that the installer will do is inspect your computer, looking for software that has the characteristics of virus or spyware. This process could take a while, so I'll pause the recording until it finishes. Once the installation is done, You should see this screen stating the process was successful. Now you have to restart your computer. If, instead of this screen, you get an error message, you might have to restart your computer as well and try the process again. I'll press on the Restart button. I'm Luis Estrada and I've just shown you how to use your web browser."
