"My name is Christine Marquette and I'm a registered dietitian with the Austin Regional Clinic, and I'm going to answer the question for you, is apple cider vinegar good for weight loss? No, it isn't. What has actually been found with apple cider vinegar is that it has a very modest, at best, impact on weight loss. There's been a few studies that have shown something like a two pound weight loss over a four week period. This isn't a real significant weight loss for somebody who is really actively trying to lose weight. Other studies have shown no weight loss at all. And the minimal amount of weight loss that did occur was strictly with the liquid form of apple cider vinegar. People who are trying to use tablets, pill forms of apple cider vinegar as a supplement, there was absolutely no weight loss shown with those methods. So, apple cider vinegar isn't the weight loss miracle cure, it isn't something to turn to if you're really trying to work on losing weight. You definitely can use it if you enjoy the taste, if enjoy pickling with apple cider vinegar or making salad dressings, vinaigrette type dressings with it. That's perfectly fine to do. But again it isn't going to have a significant impact on your weight. So you really want to stick with more traditional methods of actually working on weight loss, things like reducing your portions, increasing your physical activity. Really practicing portion control and healthy eating in general. So again, apple cider vinegar really isn't beneficial for weight loss."
