"Hi I'm Laura from youngwritersworkshops.com and I'm going to talk about how to make money writing stories. Writing a short story and kind of fiction writing is a great skill to have. It's a testament to your skill as a writer that you are hoping to make money writing stories. I think that the on line world is opening up a lot of opportunities for short story writers. You can create your own blog. A blog is a log of daily entries or regular entries that in most ways you can create for free on line and people are actually making money by selling ads on their blog. The little blog ads is a really easy way to make a little bit of money with your stories. You could create a regular blog entry of your stories and sell ads space and if you start to get enough traffic that can actually add up to be a revenue stream of income for you. Other ways to make money writing stories are to submit them to magazines. There are short story publications specific to short story writing or fiction writing where you can market your work. You would find these through the writers market which is a book that has all sorts of places for writers to sell their work. Also magazines like "Writer's Digest" or "Writer" help you to find new markets for your work so doing a little bit of research might lead you to paying markets for your stories. A third way would be to find work as a journalist at a local newspaper or another publication that hires staff writers who write possibly fiction or nonfiction stories but looking for work in the publishing industry might be another way that you can make money writing stories.
