"Hello, my name is Penny Smith. I'm a North Carolina real estate broker, and today I would like to talk to you about how to break an apartment lease. To break an apartment lease we need to first understand what a lease is. A lease is a contractual agreement that is legal and binding, so in order to break an apartment lease you'll need to talk to the person that you have the lease with; asking them to please graciously let you out of the lease. Sometimes they will. Sometimes they will come up with stipulations for how you can do it. In any case, if you should need to go beyond the person that you are contracted with in that lease I highly recommend that you hire a real estate attorney. A real estate attorney will know, and be able to give you the ramifications of what it will take to get out of that lease, and what it will cost you to do so. There are a lot of things that could hurt you, and a lot of things that could benefit you. First, I would recommend that you talk to the person you have the lease with; see if some details could be worked out to be beneficial to both parties, and if that doesn't work hire an attorney. And that's my recommendation on how to break an apartment lease. Thank you, and I hope you have a great day."
