"Hello my name is Penny Smith and I'm a North Carolina real estate broker. Today I'd like to talk to you about how to estimate moving costs. Moving is a big job and it is something that we do periodically in our lives whether we buy a new house, sell it and buy a bigger house or whether we are downsizing from a bigger house to a smaller house and in estimating the moving costs I highly recommend that you go and get different quotes. Be sure to know what you are quoting though. Be sure to compare oranges to oranges and apples to apples. Decide whether you are packing the boxes for yourself and having them ready for the movers or whether the movers are going to pack for you. You need to know what you are capable of doing and what they are capable of doing. Be sure to get these quotes in writing and be sure that you know exactly what you are moving and where you are moving and when. The time of year can make a difference as well in supply and demand. If the supply is very busy the price goes up. You may want to contract different type of movers, movers that are your more locals instead of the big companies. They can usually give you a better price but everything is negotiable. Be sure you know what you are doing and what you are pricing and be sure that you get it all in writing. That is my recommendations for how to price a moving company. Thank you and have a good day."
