"Writer's workshop dot com. I'm going to talk about how to write a survey or questionnaire. When you are writing a survey or questionnaire, keep in mind that you need to get the information out, you need to explain the question in a clear way. Because there is going to be a wide variety of people responding to your survey and you want to make sure that it's very clear. Write the questions in a way that doesn't leave your respondent. For example don't ask how great was the service that you received, you need to keep it really neutral. Ask the question on a scale of one to ten. What did you think of, try to ask questions in a way that will allow the answer to either be yes or no, or on a scale of one to ten. Reserve the open ended questions for a very few things that are difficult to quantify. You are just going to have a real difficult time using the information that you gather from an open ended question, so try and make, write the question in a way that will allow them to be answered in a yes or no or like in a scale one through five scale. Take your survey out and have a few people try responding to it, that will give you valuable information. You'll find out where people stumble, what questions they have about your survey. What's confusing to them, what could be more clearly written. It's always a good idea to do that with any survey. So those are a few things to remember about writing a survey or questionnaire."
