"I'm Gloria Campbell, president and CEO of Advantage Training Systems located in St. Petersburg, Florida. Rescheduling a job interview is not one of those things that you want to have to do, but things do happen. And I'm going to tell you how to best minimize the effect of having to reschedule that job interview. First of all, make sure that if you have to reschedule, that you call the person you had the job interview with as quickly and as much time as possible. In some cases, they can put someone in your place and maybe they can switch times. Try to reschedule for the same day. Remember the interviewer has already set aside some time, it's normally a day or two that they're interviewing for a position, and they don't want to have to reschedule on another day. So if you can do it within the same day it helps to minimize the effect for the person doing the interviewing. The second thing is, make sure that it is a legitimate and compelling reason. Things like, your flight was delayed, the fact that you are caught in traffic is normally not good enough, because it says to the interviewer you didn't leave in enough time to get here, so don't ever tell anyone that. Make sure that you're trying to reschedule it as I said for the same day, and make sure you apologize to the interviewer for not being there and not being able to make the time that you had all agreed and you had set aside. Rescheduling an interview is not something you want to have to do. Try and minimize the effect that that will have on the interviewing process so that you can get to the next step. This is Gloria Campbell with Advantage Training Systems in St. Petersburg, Florida. Try your best not to reschedule that interview, but you if you have to, try and do it during that same time period, same day, same week, that you had the original interview. It would help your interviewer out significantly. Thanks again."
