"Hello, my name is Luis Estrada, and I am a software developer. In this clip, I'll show you how to choose a web design application. After watching these series of videos, now you have a better understanding of what html is, and how to do basic stuff with it. Having a web design application is a lot of help, because it makes the process faster and easier. There are very many web design applications out there. What you need to ask yourself in order to choose one is the level of expertise that you want to achieve at building web sites. This is a good time to discuss a difference between a web page and a web application. The term web page usually means something static; something that always presents exactly the same information no matter who sees it, at what time of the day, where that person accesses the page, etc. A web application behaves entirely different. It presents personalized information based on who is seeing the page, at what time, from what place, etc. An example of web application is your e-mail that presents different information for every user; depending on what e-mails have they read, which ones they have deleted, sent, received, etc. This is why web applications are often called dynamic web pages, because they are constantly changing. To create a dynamic web site you need to know a lot more technology than just html. You need to learn at least one or two programming languages, database management, and server configurations. So, if you only want to make a few personal static web sites with only a few pictures and text you should choose an entry level web designer like the WYSIWYG Web Builder that costs less than forty dollars, or Microsoft FrontPage that is included in the Office suite, but if you want to develop dynamic web sites a great product is the Adobe DreamWeaver that costs around four hundred dollars, or the Microsoft Visual Web Developer in its express edition that is completely free. I recommend that you download the free trial for each of the products before you buy them. That way, you get to try them all and decide which one fits best for you. I am Luis Estrada, and I have just shown you how to create web pages using html."
