"My name is Anthony Maddaloni and I'm going to talk about things a wedding photographer needs to know. Number one, one of the main things a wedding photographer needs to know in my opinion, is how to act professionally at a wedding. You're at an event, it is an event where most people are dressed up, it is a very special event. So you need to know how to act professionally and that means dressing professionally to a certain level, wearing a suit, a tie, learning how to look good. The other thing is learning how your mannerisms, how to approach people, how to talk to people. Number two on the equipment side of things, you don't want to show up as a wedding photographer to document a wedding, without a backup camera. Things happen, you can have the most reliable best camera in the world, but the camera, things could break, things could go wrong, you want to have a second backup camera. That's going to save you a lot of stressful moments. Number two is that you are there to photograph somebody's wedding, you're not part of the wedding, you're not part of the party, you are a hired professional to do a job. That's what I try to tell myself and my assistants. You want to have fun. Being a wedding photographer can be fun, but you're not part of the party, you're there to document and produce photographic images. So those are some things you want to remember about being a wedding photographer."
