"My name is Anthony Maddaloni and I'm going to talk about how to become a fashion photographer. One of the ways you can again make money with your photography is by becoming a fashion photographer. It is a very interesting world and it's one that I would try to get into by going to certain schools in your area where there are fashion students and that's pretty much the easiest way that you're going to find models or people that want to show off their designs and that need photography. They need images to show what they do. There might be shows, there definitely is going to be fashion shows and that's where I would begin to start photographing. Once you start photographing these shows, these small runway shows, little boutique shows, you could build a small portfolio, thus potentially getting clients. You're always going to start small and probably not make any money, but as you're portfolio grows, you're going to definitely try to make some money and hopefully make some money. So, this is the way I would sort of incorporate, you know, a plan, okay I'm going to go to these shows I'm going to show these designers, I'm going to go to fashion schools in the area. This again is back to doing a fair amount of research. The other thing about fashion photography is that it's fairly artistic so it's not just cut and dry you've got to get the shot, and that's it. You really can use your creativity to make a niche for yourself or to make a certain style for yourself and going along those lines I encourage people to look at fashion photography. I love fashion photography and I love the history of fashion photography. So if you go to the bookstore, to the library, to the web, you can look at fashion photographers from sixty or seventy years ago. Once you look at something like that, you can say, hey I like this or I don't like that or I want to copy this woman's style or I want to copy this guy's style and that is how I would begin to get in to becoming a fashion photographer."
