"You've got access to a vehicle and you're wondering, hey, do I need my own car insurance, even though it's not my vehicle? My name is James, with the Resurgence Group, we're a full service insurance agency, and we specialize in auto insurance. Well, the one thing that you want to do is speak to that person that you're using their car and get a copy of their policy. I would also, suggest that you speak with their agent, because sometimes there are policy limits in their policy that will cover you and then sometimes there aren't. So it's very specific as to the type of policy, and chances are that individual who has the car insured is allowed to let you use that vehicle, but it's very specific as far as how many days that you are allowed to use the vehicle. So, if you're using it for a couple of months then the answer would be no, but if you're using it for a couple of days that policy should have, inside that policy jacket, exactly what it is that would be covered. So, speak with your agent or the agent of the insured and let them find out, specificly, as to whether or not you've got coverage for a person whose driving that vehicle and you don't have insurance yourself. My name is James with the Resurgence Group, we do this every day with our clients, what I would suggest is get with the person who owns that car, and get with their agent, and get the answers to that so that, at least, we're all on the same page."
