Video Transcript

"A friend by any other name is still a friend. The question is, how to date a friend. This is Dr. Paul, author of "Boomer Girls, a boomer womens guide to men and dating" and host of "Ask Dr. Paul." How to date a friend. That is something that many people do successfully. The go from the point of being a friend only to being a friend of interest, if you will, and then to being a romantic friend. So, sometimes that's not all bad. Oftentimes, you will hear people say you have to be a friend before you can have a romantic relationship. Maybe that's true and maybe it is not. Not in all cases is it true but in many cases it can be. Oftentimes we hear about people who are married, maybe the spouse dies, they've got a friend. In fact, I know one very personally that has, they're very careful with it and the woman died and then he started seeing a friend. It worked out very well. So, it's possible, it's just to keep the communication open. If you have an open line of communication then you can tell the friend, "I think we can go to the next level." That's the way it works. This is Dr. Paul. May your fantasies of today be your realities of tomorrow."
