"Did you know you can use RICE in a massage? Well, I'm going to tell you how. I'm Sundae with Natural Sundae. Now RICE, R-I-C-E means rest, ice, compression and elevation. And this is a protocol used to help joints and muscle injuries heal quicker with less pain. Now, of course, rest is rest. Make sure you rest. If you hurt your ankle or a muscle in your leg, you don't want to keep walking on it. So, the R is rest. Stay off of the injury. Ice, of course, you want to ice it. That's going to help reduce inflammation which is going to make all the tissue around it healthier and get all those toxins out; get all those extra fluids out. Compression is very, very important because the compression, or the pressure around that injury, just like the ice is going to help reduce all the fluids. It's going to help circulate all those out because it really can't heal if it's full of fluid. And, then you have your elevation. Keeping your injury elevated is also going to help all those extra fluids and all that blood circulate out so it can reduce swelling and reduce inflammation and it can really start to heal. So Rest, Ice, Compression and Elevation is a great protocol for healing muscle injuries and reducing pain. And that's how you use RICE in massage. I bet you never knew you could do that! I'm Sundae with Natural Sundae. Take care!"
