"Are you curious about Fibromyalgia and massage? Well I'm Sundae with Natural Sundae and I'm going to tell you a little bit about Fibromyalgia and how massage can help. Now Fibromyalgia is a chronic condition characterized by long term, wide spread pain in the muscles, tendons and ligaments, moderate to severe fatigue and extreme tenderness to light and gentle touch. And the term Fibromyalgia actually means pain in the muscles and fibers. Now there are many symptoms that go along with Fibromyalgia unfortunately, including fatigue, the pain and the extreme tenderness to touch, but also you can experience, unfortunately, needle like tingling in your skin, disturbances in your sleep patterns, muscle aches, muscle pains, and nerve pain. Now along with those physical difficulties, unfortunately many cognitive difficulties come from that as well. And when I speak of this I mean if people are experiencing lack of sleep from all the pain that they're experiencing, they're going to experience some cognitive malfunctions as far as like the inability to concentrate, loss of short term and long term memory, depression, anxiety, all that brain fog stuff that comes along when you're not able to really be yourself and concentrate because of your physical pain. Now for these two reasons, massage is a wonderful therapy for Fibromyalgia. Obviously the first reason is because it helps take away that physical pain that's always with that person. I actually know some really, really great people that are affected by Fibromyalgia, and it's been very tough on them physically and emotionally. And then secondly, is it does help you relax and it helps relax those aches and pains that you get in your heart from always worrying about how you're going to get rid of the pain and what are you going to do. And I can imagine that it gets very, very tough. So massage is a wonderful therapy for your insides and your outsides. Now I recently learned that mostly women are affected by Fibromyalgia and the percentages across the board from two to four percent of the population. So it's not a whole lot of people, but it's definitely enough people to be a problem. And no one really knows what causes it, and unfortunately, you can't get rid of it after onset. Now it's not life threatening and it's not contagious, but like I said, it does stick with you for the duration. So it's definitely great to try to find a therapy that's going to help you through your journey which is life, and life's a long time. So massage, I definitely recommend massage for Fibromyalgia. I hope you've learned a little bit today. I'm Sundae with Natural Sundae. Take care."
