"Hello everyone. This is Chris Markowski, president of Markowski Investments and host of the nationally syndicated radio show, The Watch Dog on Wall Street, here to talk to you and tell you how to go about tracking stocks in a portfolio. First and foremost, guys, this is not something that you want to do on a daily basis, not a good idea. You turn it almost into a casino to that type of degree, where you're watching the every tick and movement of your stocks on any given day. Basically what you need to do, there's lots of different softwares out there. You choose which one. You want to watch what's going on. You punch in the various different positions that you have, and you watch it. If you've got a good financial adviser, you're going to be getting account statements every single month, where you're going to be able to track the progress of your portfolio and watch your money grow over time. You're also going to be able to track the amount of fees that you pay and commissions, if it's a stock broker. So basically, in order to track stocks in a portfolio, what I would first recommend you doing, obviously first you've got to have a portfolio to put together. So obviously, you want to be working with a financial adviser to do that. And then you're watching. Open up those statements once a month, see how you're doing. If there's anything seems a little bit out of whack, well then you'll need to call your financial adviser. This is Chris Markowski, your watch dog on Wall Street."
