First of all you are going to of course want to have some genuine interest in relaying information about a certain subject to a group of people. For the most part people are teachers are people who have passion for an academic subject that they are interested in. Next you are of course going to want to go to school and get a degree for that particular subject and if you are so lucky as to know that you want to teach while you are in school you should also get your education degree which will help you down the road when you need to get your certification. Now if you want to be a college professor you actually don't need to have certification but you will of course need to go on and get a second degree or a master's degree or even a PHd. in your subject in order to get a really good teaching job at a college.
