Hi, this is Laura Turner, and today I'm going to talk with you about writing your resume for a school administrator position. First of all, of course you're going to want to decide for yourself, do you have the experience to apply for this job, and if you do, it's really going to be very easy for you to write this, this resume. If you are applying for a first time administrator job you're probably going to have to be a little more creative with what you put. If you're going to be a school administrator, I'm going to assume that you've worked with in a school before, either as a teacher or in some other way. And if you have not worked in a school before, you should probably get that experience before you apply for an administrator job. So what you're going to want to do in your resume is detail your teaching experience and your relative academic experience to the, the administrator job. So, for example, you have been in the shoes of a teacher, so you know how to administer, you know, rules upon teachers and sort of look after teachers. You're going to also want to include any other administrative duties that you have held in any other jobs that you have had, so this is where the creative part comes in. So if, for example, you were a manager at a retail store for years, you can include that as administrative experience for your school administrator position. And include in your resume everything that you did for those positions, all of the complicated things that you had to deal with, because being a school administrator is going to entail not only supervising teachers, but also supervising students, and even parents. So think about that when ever you're writing your resume for school administrator.
