First of all you're going to want to get your teaching degree and you're bachelor's degree, hopefully, in children's education or something related. You can also, have a double major in college, some people have done that, so you can have expert, expertise in your area, in your subjects, for example English, and then you can, also, have your education and degree along with that. Now, with your degree you may actually, become certified in the state that you got your degree in, but, you might also, have to, if you're going to go to a different state, get certification in that state, as well. You'll need to figure out, whenever you apply for Elementary Teaching job, exactly what the school district requires you to have, and how they require you to go back to get that certification. If you have a certification in your home state, in some states it does not matter you can carry it over depending on a lot of states, like I said, you don't have to get a new certification. Next, to become an Elementary School Teacher, you should really, discover, while you're doing the student teaching, or as you're going out to the world, do you have a genuine love for kids, and you really want to help kids to learn. So, think about that and figure out if it's right for you. And finally, you should really try, before you jump into teaching, before you jump into getting your certification, you should try teaching the students, even if you really love kids you might find teaching them is something totally different.
